Animal kingdom activity

This activity promoted the foundations Engagement and Belonging from the HDLH and Mathematical and Logical thinking skills from the ELECT. In making the puzzles the children will be able to use their spatial and image recognition skills. Then they used their language and literacy skills to form words by matching the animals with pictures in a book. They also engaged and used their listening skills when listening to the book being read to them. As an extension activity, they were given animal activity sheets, where they coloured animal pictures, recognized similar animals and spotted animals in a picture. The materials required for this activity were: Puzzle pieces, animal image pieces, alphabets-foam, book on wild animals, animal activity sheets.
