Salad Spinner activity

This activity promoted Expression and Engagement form HDLH and Cognitive and Social -Emotional Development from ELECT. The children used three different kinds of salad spinners to create various art pieces. They placed a paper plate into a salad spinner and added paint to their plate. Then they spun the salad spinner creating a design. There were three different types of salad spinners: Operated by pushing knob down, operated by pulling a string, operated by rotating its knob. The children took turns to try out the different types of salad spinners. As an extension to this activity they sprayed waters and used paint brush to manipulate the flow of paint before spinning their art piece. The materials needed for this activity were salad spinners, paper plates, paint, paint brush and mist spray.
