Sensory Bag Activity

This activity promoted Engagement and Belonging from the HDLD and Cognitive Development, approaches towards learning and social – emotional development form ELECT. In this activity, the children were given three different kinds of sensory bags which were marked with colour destiny spots. The destiny spots were labelled in English and Portuguese. The children took turns to roll a colour dice and then based on the colour that came up they would move their pompom balls in the sensory bag to the destiny spot, attempting to move all pompoms to the coloured destiny. As an extension to this activity, we looked up colours in the “learn colours” book and tried to say colours in English and Portuguese by taking turns. The materials used were sensory bags made of freezer bags, hair gel, pompom, Chanel sticks, colour paper, and colour book.
